The end...

I'm ending this blog. I'm just not interesting enough.

Happy New Year!!

December 21, 2008

It's my birthday!!

I'm sitting here enjoying the last 30 mins of my birthday! Everyone is asleep, the oven is self-cleaning itself, the dryer is drying some much needed towels and I'm drinking some apple cider. Yum!

I'm not believing that its soo cold. We started out on Friday at 70 and now its 30 degrees as of my last check. Brr! I'm not loving it. Never fear though right cause in two days the weather will be something totally different. Gotta love Alabama! I did however get some warm pjs from my mom today so I'm all polka dotted and warm tonight. I got some other "pjs" that Ricky likes but its too cold and well I'm kinda embarrased my mom bought it.

A must have for every person in the world is... a digital picture frame. Mom got me one and I have sat for hours watching the pictures. I know every picture that is on it but its still fun to see them appear. ( Little does she know but we got her one for Christmas this year!)

We went this morning to see Ricky's pawpaw in a play in church. It was sooooo hot in there most of the members are older and they had on their jackets but us "young" people had the fans going. It could have been the middle of July during a heat wave. Woo! Those poor people need to get them some blood. Even Regan was fanning himself. Which brings me to a question.....
********* Do you put your children in Christmas sweaters???**********
Ricky about died that I put one on Regan. He says its dorky but I think its cute on kids his age. At 10 no probably not but at 3 YES!! I don't want to be dorkin my kid up so let me know....

I'm off to bed, I hope~ Night!

Christmas cookies

Just wanted to show off my little cutie making cookies with Nana.

Money Talk..

Times are tough in America and all over the world for that matter. I'm so tired of hearing about stock market, recessions, failing credit markets and all that other stuff. I'm not sure what I think about the bailouts for the banks or the bailouts for the car companies. All that money could have been used for something that would help keep Americans in their homes, right? Helped people who are without jobs, we are at the highest jobless rate in 27 years. That's as long as I've been alive.

This isn't a blog about how to save the world of economic crisis its just about what we are doing as a family to hopefully make it through. Ricky's overtime has been cut drastically. He was working all the overtime he wanted and now in the last two week he has begged and been able to work 4 hours. Yippee! Getting these new paychecks has been a shocker. My mom always told me not to live on the OT pay but base pay. SHE WAS RIGHT.

~Coupons~ yep, I'm a coupon cutter/down loader. How great is it that you can down load coupons now! I get some great coupons out of the P&G coupon book for things like toothpaste, cleaning supplies.

~Shopping CVS and Walgreens~ CVS especially have the bonus bucks, when you use the bonus bucks from buying something and then add the coupons you can get stuff CHEAP! Like some swimmers diapers for .17! That's my favorite deal of the fall.

Samples~ Walmart.com has a section of free samples. I order all of them even if I don't need them. Some of the samples have been toothpaste, feminine products (great for the car, coffee, diapers, laundry detergent, makeup and cat and dog food samples and coupons for free stuff! I went to Mobile last month with my mom and had samples of body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, lotion so that saved having to buy those trial sizes or pack the big stuff.

Cooking at home~ Oh, How I hate to eat at home every night. Our eating out was costing us 500 dollars a month. Now we spend about 100 a month. Pull out the old recipe books and be creative. Kraft foods is one of my favorite places for recipes. If you must go out just order two appetizers. Cost less and you can share. Ricky and I do this alot and walk out full on 15.00.

Our biggest blessing has been that we saved. Not alot but if we do get into a pinch we will somehow make it. I have a online savings account with ING direct which has been great for us. It takes about 2 days for the money to be transferred back into a checking account so we don't just dip into it when money gets tight. It was earning really good interest but now its only about 2%. Better than nothing!

I'm glad sells are so popular right now. Most places even have their Christmas decorations half off already. We have picked up some good deals off of amazon and ebay this year. Be creative with your gift giving! I love getting a recipe and the ingredients to make it or when you get a basket full of cleaning supplies and paper towels. But I am a little strange!!

Times are tough and will probably not be better right away. Maybe the financial problems of the world are a way of getting back to the simply things in life. Have a Merry Christmas!

Happy Turkey Day

Just wanted to say Happy Turkey day! I love Thanksgiving, its just like Christmas without the stress. Noone cares if you got the right size or color. Just that your spending time together. My parents and Ricky's cook an amazing meal and Ricky and I get to enjoy it. I hope each of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I'm not so sure we are going shopping on Friday. There are a few things I wouldn't mind getting. One of them is a GPS system. Walmart will be having one for 99.00!! You can also get it online so I may just do that and save the trip. Oh, and Ironman will be on sale for 9.00. This is the perfect time to stock up on some movies Target and Walmart put some good ones out for two, three and five dollars!! I hope you all have a wonderful time shopping. If you haven't already visit Here!
for a list of the stores and the deals that they will have on Friday. Shh, some stores already have their stuff on sale.

What's a mommy to do?

What's a mommy to do when her three year old puts the clothes from the dryer back into the washer when the water is running??
Except tell him what a wonderful helper he is and wash the clothes AGAIN. No wonder I never get any laundry done.

It's not me Monday

I've been keeping up with mck mama's blog for a while now. She has an amazing family and recently added baby stellan to it. Stellan's birth was no ordinary birth. At around 20 weeks they were told that he wouldn't make it into this world. A few weeks ago he was born into our world a healthy little boy. A miracle! Her kids are adorable and you should check them out.

She does a not me Monday... A way of admitting to the things we have done in the past week. Here's my first

I so didn't let my child eat two krispy cream doughnuts for breakfast.

I so didn't tell my child that the shrimp on his plate was chicken just so he would eat it.

I also didn't put the same pair of socks on him two days in a row because I forgot to pack anymore. After insisting that I knew I had.

I would also like to think that I didn't come home from the conference, sleep 12 hours and then wake up sick.

Last but not least did I not tell the lady today in Target that there wasn't anything wrong with my kid he was a brat just like hers. Oops!

November 17, 2008

Peanuts aren't the only nuts in the world......

I read on one of the many websites that I visit that after one month you should not be upset by the loss of a baby. That it would take a month to mourn the loss of a baby but that's it. Ha! Its been 3weeks 5days 7hours for me and I'm not going to be over it in less than two days.......... What the heck??

Get your motor running...

I'm so excited to be getting out on the road this week. My mom, Regan and I are headed to the preschool conference in Mobile. She and Regan have days of fun lined up. The IMAX and children's museum, Bellingrath gardens, Dauphin Island to play in the sand, a boat ride, and of course lots of shopping!! I almost wish I wasn't going to be in classes. When I do get done with the classes we will be shopping!!

Roussos is one of our favorite places. We used to eat there when we went to Mardi Gras. We haven't been since 2000, the year that Mr. Roussos passed away. I'm hoping its still great. We met Mr.Roussos on our first trip to Mardi Gras and he was amazing to us given us great tips. He even threw us some special beads during one of the parades.

I'll be gone till late Friday. Have a great week!!

Weekend getaway!

Ricky and I had planned to take Regan to the Tennessee aquarium on Monday but after a short pleading we headed to Gatlinburg on Sunday morning. The colors were amazing!! Yellows and reds were everywhere. I loved it! Here's some pictures..

We love to stay in a cabin but have found that Park Vista is a great Hotel to stay in. With two indoor pools and trolley service into down town its a great way to save on parking and fun to ride the trolley. Here's a picture of it from their website.

I love to go to the Tanger outlets and go shopping. With over 100 stores you can find just about anything. We did a good bit of Christmas shopping. Which is just42 days away!

November 7, 2008

Happy Friday!

Its been a week or so since I blogged so here ya go!

Things are pretty good here. We have our times when we get upset still about losing the baby. I've been trying to figure out something to do in remembrance of the baby. I'm not talking about anything big just a little something. I'm looking for ideas. Do you have any??

This weekends Alabama game should be a good one. I'm hoping Alabama wins so that Ricky will be happy the rest of the weekend!! He doesn't go back to work till Wednesday!! It will be nice to have him here. He has been an amazing support in the last two weeks. I'm just so thankful to have him in my life.

Regan has almost burned our house down twice this week!! Once he was in the living room and I was in the kitchen.I went to the back door for something and smelled smoke. When I looked in the living room there was smoke coming out of the heater!!!! He had put paper in the gas fireplace!! Then the next day he put a crayon in the heater in the game room. I just really don't know what to do with him. It seems that he is always doing things the minute I start doing something like washing dishes or clothes. He now has to go with me into every room. Its the only way I can keep him and our house safe.

Hope you all have a great weekend! Enjoy these beautiful fall colors!!

October 27, 2008

We're still here. I'll blog more later this week, I hope.

Thank you for all your concern the last few days. All the prayers and well wishes are greatly appreciated

There's a reason for everything

Somethings just don't end up the way we want them too, Life isn't always fair, When one door closes another one opens, It will happen when its suppose to happen,There's a reason for everything. These things have been on a record playing in my head since Wednesday at 134pm.

What happened at 134pm 10/22/08 changed my world. I was up washing dishes and all the sudden had to go potty. Not a shock when your in your first trimester. I noticed some darkish color and panic set in. I was spotting, I had been kinda cramping all day. I was thinking that I was stretching, Nope! I called Ricky, the doctor, my mom, Ricky's mom. I was at the doctor within 35 mins getting ready for the ultrasound. My wonderful doctor came in and started measuring the baby and I saw that it was measuring only two days larger than my last ultrasound, which was two weeks ago!! Then I noticed no little flicker and then it set in. My little one was gone. A few minutes later the doctor confirmed it. Little one wasn't with its mommy anymore.

I had the not so fun D&C yesterday. I'm now only one but part of that baby will always be with me. Since 9/11 I have been on cloud 9. I waited for over 2 years to get pregnant and I got to spend the last 5 weeks and few days excited that we would be adding to our family. I'm still glad that I got those 5 weeks. I got to see its little heart beat and I know that it was part of our family even for the short time it was with me.

Peppercorns and a kid

How do you take the burn out of a kids mouth who ate peppercorns?

Regan has an obsession with getting the salt and pepper shakers and playing with them. We have a pepper grinder that sits on top of the microwave in the kitchen. Regan decides today while I'm getting ready to climb the bar stool and get the pepper grinder. He being the child that he is opened it and ate the pepper corns!! He came running to me with drool running down his chin, yelling his version of hot, with watering eyes and all that. I could smell the pepper on him. Oh, the joy of having a three year old!!

He is too funny but maybe we learned a lesson!!!

October 17, 2008

My embrassing cleaning story....

I keep thinking if I don't get this house cleaned out now I will be too
lazy busy getting ready for new baby.

I cleaned this week like no body's business. I have bagged so much stuff up for thrift stores that I don't think it will fit into my car. I actually had Ricky bring the big trashcan in last night and started throwing clothes away! I have just a few loads of clothes to get caught up on and it will be all done!! Yippee!!

Plus, Donna called lastnight and knows a family with a three year old that lost all their belongings in a house fire so now I've got a place for the toys that we don't use or need anymore. I'm excited to know that Regan's toys will be given to someone that needs them.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I'm going to enjoy some quiet time with my two favorite guys!!

Pumpkin Patch

We took Regan back to the pumpkin patch in Hayden. We enjoyed it again as always!! They have so much to do there. Petting zoo, train rides, pony rides, bounce activities and of course the hay ride to the pumpkin patch and sunflower field. Regan didn't want to get a big pumpkin he wanted the smallest pumpkins he could find. It took us forever to find a pumpkin that we all agreed on. Ricky is so picky it couldn't be too flat, too oval, too pale, too round we walked that patch forever!!! Here's some pictures...

We decided to try to carve the pumpkin Tuesday while Daddy was at work. Regan didn't want any part of getting the goop out of the pumpkin. I thought he would love it! All he kept saying was Yuck. I had to do all the cleaning out of the insides by myself. Ricky and I are going to carve the face by our self cause Regan could care less. We both are so excited to figure out what face we want to carve. He may get one side and me the other. ~We will have a two faced pumpkin~ :) Ha! get it? a two faced pumpkin!! Okay, no more trying to be funny! Here's more pictures...

Our pumpkin made it home

~The first touch of pumpkin~

I tricked him into holding this piece

This picture was just too cute to leave off!

Festive Pumpkin Pie

I tried a new recipe today. Ricky loves pumpkin pie and I know that I will never be able to make one like his mom. This has happened before on pinto beans , Ricky said "There good but not as good as my mom's" and so that was the end of my pinto bean making. So, I found a recipe for a frozen pumpkin pie, I love frozen pies and he loves pumpkin so it should be a match made in pumpkin pie heaven.

Its still in the freezer but the prefrozen tasted really good. Here's the recipe

Festive Pumpkin Pie

2 cups of crumbled ginger snaps

1/3 cup of melted butter

1- 15 oz can pumpkin

1-7oz jar marshmellow cream

1-15oz tub cool whip

* pecans for garnish

In 9 inch pie pan mix melted butter and ginger snaps together to form a crust on bottom and sides of pan.

Mix pumpkin and marshmellow cream with wire whisk till smooth

add 2 cups cool whip and mix throughly.

Pour mixture into ginger snap crust and freeze for 4 hours.

30 mins before serving

Put remaining cool whip on pie and garnish with pecans

Wait, I have for the last week! Yummy McDonald's I love you for your greatest accomplishment ever just don't get rid of them like you did the McRib.

Baby update

Today was my first check up! I was so nervous and excited all together. So first of all the good ole pee pee fun. I had to go so that wasn't a problem! Then we finally get called after what I thought was hours but was only 10 mins for the ultrasound. I'm so ready for this moment I took about two seconds to get down to my nothings and wrap the so called sheet around me. We finally start and she asks my LMP which was 08/10 so I should be 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant.... wrong..... I'm only 6 weeks and two days. I have a crazy body and I don't ovulate like other people do, two weeks after their period, I ovulated this time about a week and half later. So, I'm not where I thought I was but, I'm still pregnant and that is all that matters. The heart rate of the baby was 160bpm and all you could see was a blob on the screen. The CRNP set up for me to have another ultrasound in 4 weeks so that I can see things better. I'm excited for that day already.

We did discuss going to the genetic department at UAB for some detailed testing and scans. Ricky and I have had many tearful discussions the last few weeks about if we wanted these test and we don't. With Regan all the test came back "normal" and they weren't. I don't think I would believe them either way now. We have waited and wanted for two years for this baby and nothing is going to change about us wanting this baby. Plus, if something is wrong I know a group of ladies that would be by our side just like they were with Regan. :)

I'm now due June 1st. I've always wanted a Summer time baby and it looks like we will finally get ours. YEAH!!

I'm headed to bed. Meme's tired!

October 4, 2008

Happy Birthday Ethan!!

Happy 3rd Birthday today to Ethan Carter!!

Hope you have a wonderful afternoon. Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day. Regan had a blast playing and jumping today.

Dear Uncle Ben.... now know as Lima Bean

Why are you making me so hungry? Mommy just ate two hours ago. Don't you remember the pears and yogurt? I thought it was delicious. Now I understand that you are a growing child but mommy doesn't like feeling like a garbage disposal. She is constantly eating for you child. My tummy growls ever two hours, I mean come on this morning at 5 I was hungry that's after getting up at midnight while we were powerless to get some crackers and juice.

Waking mommy up at 12,2, and 4 to go to the potty isn't really all that necessary is it? I can't sleep as it is because mommy isn't supposed to be on her belly which is how she likes to sleep.

These blotches that you seem to have made show up all over my body is that really necessary? I never had perfect skin at all but this is a disaster. I thought pregnant people glowed I seem to be turning into a leopard.

We have to work out some sort of deal here child, more food for less spots and bathroom trips in the middle of the night?

Your loving, spotted, hungry,sleepy mommy.

Another reason why you should never open the door to strangers....

Here is a conversation I had with the lovely cable company man yesterday. I know your just doing your job dude. But check the name or address before you get all mean. You almost made this pregnant woman cry and I didn't do anything wrong.

Cable man~ Hello Mam, I'm here to pick up your cable equipment.

Me~ umm Why

CM~ Cause we pick up the cable equipment when you don't bring it into the office

Me~ Why do I need to take it to the office

CM~ Your cable's been disconnected since the August 11

Me~ no, no it hasn't

CM~ according to our records it has and we must pick up the cable equipment today or you will be charged a 300.00 equipment fee

Me~ Listen I'm in here right now watching Ever After on E! So I know that our cable isn't disconnected and I made a payment Thursday that cleared my bank on Friday so again there wold be no reason to have our cable disconnected. Are you sure you have the right people??

CM~ Look mam I'm just here to collect the equipment.

Me~ What address are you looking for?

CM~ ***** Sulpher Springs Road

Me~ Well we live on Alexandria Wellington Road

CM~ Is your name ***********

Me~ Nope

Cm~ Sorry for the mix up.

Me~ Shuts the door

I think they owe me a month for free after that.

Number two in the nation.. number one in his heart

Number 2 in the Nation is good, right? Now Ricky is worried that each game could mean something bad for Alabama. He is worried more now I think. I made fun of him for being dressed in all Alabama stuff today. He proceeded to tell me that he has supported Bama through good and bad, Stallings to Saban all all those between. Sounded like a marriage vow to me! He's so funny!

I'm seven weeks pregnant now. I don't feel pregnant at all.I have to wait till next Tuesday to go to the doctor. It's been a long three weeks already. I had already been to the ob two times with Regan at this point. Once to confirm and do the first exam and then again for an ultrasound at 6 weeks. I know each doctor is different but I just want to see this little tic tac. Ok I'll quit being a crybaby.

Regan and Elmo was funny. He was kinda freaked out at first I mean they were there in person! He started signing home and trying to get away. We were in the 11th row, thank goodness I didn't go crazy and get 1st row seats he really would have been scared. He did start to enjoy it after a few minutes. Ricky and I thought it was cute

When they first came out

September 22, 2008

Another recipe

I'm obsessed with food! I've been eating smaller portions but more often lately so here is a new recipe I tried on Saturday.

Broccoli and Cheese soup
(Thanks Kennis for talking about O'Charley's on Friday)

2 small cans of chicken broth~ Use a big one if you have it~
1 bag frozen broccoli
1 block Velvetta cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

Put ingredients into a boiler on medium heat.
Stir every few minutes to help mix the cheese up.
I think it took about 15 minutes to get it all mixed.

It was Yummy!!

I want some opinions about Gatlinburg in the Fall. Ricky and I really want to go see the leaves during fall. I'm thinking because Alabama football has a break on the weekend of Oct. 10 we might try to sneak off for the weekend. I think it would be easier with one child than trying to go next year with a baby and a child. So has anyone ever been? Is it as beautiful as I imagine? Can you find a cheap enough hotel thats's clean?

September 19, 2008

Fantastic Find Friday

I love finding new things to try so I'm going to pass on a few of my favorite things.....

Dove Regenerating Night lotion

This lotion is amazing, I use it on my hands and feet. Well, actually I use the pity look and get Ricky to rub my feet and hands with it before I go to bed. :) I can really tell a difference on my feet cause my heals are usually dry but not now!! I got mine at Big Lots for 4.00 You can't beat it!

Febreze odor eliminator candle

We got the fall harvest candle and I'm in love with it. It does eliminate the odors like when I cooked with onions and garlic this week it didn't smell like it. It smells great even without burning it. I would suggest that if you have strong allergies not to get it cause it can be strong especially if burning in a small area. There are 8 different scents, I think. We found ours again at Big Lots and it was 4.00. Walmart, Target and K-mart have them and I've seen them between 5.00-9.99.

For those of us with kids and especially kiddos that may have a speech delay, autism, allergy, or some other special need..... Someone sent me this website. It has got to be the greatest idea ever!! They have temporary tattoos that you fill in the information on about allergies, health condition and your phone number in case your child gets lost. You can buy them already filled out from the company or you can get some that you fill in the information yourself with a special marker. That way if your kid is off with Grandma she can write in her number and they call her. I haven't ordered yet, but its on my list of things we need.
Visit Safety Tat's website

Those are my favorite finds for the week! Enjoy your weekend!

Can the kid go in the washer??

Regan loves washing clothes. Something his mom hates to do. I mean HATE is the nice way to put it. I wish for disposable clothes every time I step into that dreaded room.

So today Regan was helping me put clothes in the washer and what happens but RING RING so I put the laundry detergent down and run to answer the phone thinking ** Yes I know** that Regan would keep putting the clothes into the washer!!! Instead he gets the laundry detergent and attempts to pour it into the machine. So as I step back in the laundry room, there he he stands covered in laundry detergent. Its all over the washer, the floor, the clothes in the floor EVERYWHERE!! He poured the entire bottle used less than 5 times out.

So then we head to the bath cause we gotta get it off and well there were more bubbles than water in the tub. The entire time he keeps saying HO!HO! as he makes himself a lovely Santa beard.

Sorry I didn't get pictures the camera is in the car and well I didn't feel like going to get it.

Tonight the menu is...

Santa Fe Soup

This is one of my favorite things to eat when it gets cooler weather. (I actually like it anytime)

1 lb ground beef browned with a small onion
2 cans kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 can niblet corn
2 packages of taco seasoning
2 packets of Ranch dressing ( I like Hidden Valley the best)
*2-3 cups of water depending on how much soup you like

I usually put all the ingredients in the crock pot and let simmer all day (6-8 hours) on low.

*Tonight I put it all in a huge pot and have in on medium for 35 mins*

I'm looking for some recipes that I can fix and freeze. As it gets closer to baby #2 being here I want to freeze some things so I can just warm them up. Leave me some comments with ideas, Please!!!! I want to feel like more than 1 person reads my blog.

September 11th

I had thought about what I wanted to say in today's post but we all know how we felt that day, we all remember the heartache we felt, right? Make today a memorable day with your family. Do something good for someone today and remember the lives that were lost 7 years ago today.

September 10th ~

Lets step back to September 10Th 2001.

I was working at Occupational Health and had been there for 8 months, I was bored at night so I started working at Martins in Gadsden just for something to do at night. Ricky and I had been dating a few weeks. He worked 2ND shift at Springs in Piedmont.

I was filling in at The Rehab Center for the week. Monday was my first day there. I spent the day pulling table paper, answering phone calls, making coffee, watching TV and reading books. It was so much easier than my job at OHC. I didn't get to eat lunch with Ricky like usual because I only got 30 mins there. I think I worked at Martins that night and I know I talked to Ricky that night on his way home from Piedmont.

Can you remember 09-10-2001? That's the day before our lives changed, right? That's the day before we learned what and who we were. The day before we pulled together with our families and the day before so many people lost part of their family. Lots of time we remember what we were doing when a tragedy occurred but don't remember before.

Here's the challenge for today 7 years later..........
I want to know what your day was like on September 10.... Do you remember what you were doing? Do you remember what events you were looking forward to? Email me, comment me, mail me, smoke signal me whatever you must do just let me know.

Tomorrow is a important day in our history and we will discuss that tomorrow. Until then have a wonderful day and hug your family.

Your entire life can change in just one day.

Whew!

I'm feeling a little old. We hit Six Flags over the weekend and my body hasn't recovered yet. I'm so serious, I pulled out the tube of Aspercream lastnight and begged Ricky to rub it on my aching back. Ohhh, It hurts! I laid there this morning at 3am and thought about how my mom used to ride all the rides with us and she would get up and work the next day. Again I'm thinking my mom was wonderwoman cause I don't remember her complaining the next day.

I did get to have one of what I'm sure will be my greatest memories EVER with Regan. I rode with him on his first rollercoaster!! They have added a small one in the kiddie part and it was a blast. He made some really funny faces but seemed to enjoy it. He put his little arms up when we were still waiting to be dispatched. SO cute! Thanks Jessica for getting a cute picture.

Thats us in the front going into the bushes!

We didn't make it to our friends wedding shower like we were supposed to. Toni and Channing please forgive us. We lost track of time and then I had a hard time leaving Regan. We're so sorry!!

We watched the Alabama game that night at Steve and Pat's house. I was so shocked at the team that showed up to play at that game. It didn't even look like the same team that played Clemson the week before. The offensive line wasn't the same and I know that they had moved some players around but geesh. JPW got sacked 4 times! I honestly felt sorry for him. So hopefully we will see a different team this weekend. I don't know if Ricky can handle another weekend with Alabama looking so bad even with a win Ricky replayed that game in his head allnight.

Sunday we slept in and then yesterday afternoon we spent cleaning out our bedroom. I let it get so bad. There were clothes everywhere and I couldn't tell you the last time that it had been swept and the sink and all that cleaned. So now I have a clean room of course I also have tons of clothes to wash and so I better get to washing!! Have a wonderful week!

Sarah Palin's speech

I've never really paid attention to the elections, I have voted but my opinion was on what my parents told me they thought. This year I decided that I would go into this election not really listening to others, choosing what I thought was right and deciding on the issues that mattered to us. (RKR)

I have thought with every speech from Obama that it was all put on. Look how great I am. I have great words and make these huge promises. Plus I fill up stadiums and have parties everywhere I go.

Last night Sarah Palin took the stage at the RNC and she closed the deal I think. Yes, her 17 year old daughter is pregnant. How many teens in America are pregnant, how many of those teens were raised with conservative values? I bet lots. How many parents have a child serving in the military? How many have a child with special needs?

So I'm posting some of my favorite quotes from her speech last night. I'd love to hear what others think about her speech.

**The quote that brought tears to my eyes**

"Our family has the same ups and downs as any other ... the same challenges and the same joys. Sometimes even the greatest joys bring challenge.
And children with special needs inspire a special love.
To the families of special-needs children all across this country, I have a message: For years, you sought to make America a more welcoming place for your sons and daughters.
I pledge to you that if we are elected, you will have a friend and advocate in the White House."

I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country. Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons, and not just to mingle with the right people.

Our opponents say, again and again, that drilling will not solve all of America's energy problems - as if we all didn't know that already.
But the fact that drilling won't solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all.

" it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate. ~ about Obama

There is only one man in this election who has ever really fought for you ... in places where winning means survival and defeat means death ... and that man is John McCain.

One of my favorite moments is where her youngest daughter was shown spit combing baby Trig's hair. Soo adorable!

The queen's bed

Last night as "The Queen" is finally done watching the Republican National Convention and getting ready for bed finally. She is so excited to crawl into her Queen bed. She can hear "The King" (not Elvis) snoring away in there and that is music to her ears. As she is crawling into bed ready to finally get warm in the icebox of a castle she lives in right now, she hits something...... A body!!!! The King is on her side of the bed AHHH! Ok no big deal she says I'll just have to deal with it. Surely she can find "her spot" on the other side so crawling up that bed she hits something..........A smaller body! AHH! "The Prince" (not the artist formerly known as prince) Is also in her bed, snoring as well. Now the poor sad queen has to venture into uncharted territory a small car jungle to get to the itty bitty bed with covers that don't reach the end of her feet, a pillow that feels like its only 1/3 of a pillow and no "her spot". This lovely morning her King and Prince wake up at 5:15 fully rested and ready to start the day in the kingdom. The queen on the other hand just wants to go back to "HER queen bed and sleep the day away"

My fall wish list..

I read lots of peoples blogs. Ok, I'm kinda a blog stalker. I just love reading about other peoples lives and not the rich and famous but just "average" people. Although most have more money in the sunglasses they wear than I do in all my clothes. :( They shop all the time and drop a few hundred on one dress where I fret over spending 40.00 on a dress, shoes and accessories to go with it.

Lots of "people" have posted their fall wish list for the clothes they are going to buy this fall and so I want to post my fall must haves. Now, I'm a stay at home mom and well my biggest event during the week is going to the elementary school for 30mins everyday. Not that I wouldn't like to be more in style or find the perfect pants to fit on my Thick waist, lost butt and short legs but hey I can't spend 75.00 on jeans when we live on one income and have medical bills like we do.

So without further ado here are my wishes for the fall

A daily visit from Mr. Clean himself

The Vacum that chases the dust bunnies all by itsself

The happy smiley face to wash all my dishes** It would be a plus if they were as fast as this little lady

My last fall wish is to be on the couch with a cup of white chocolate peppermint mocha reading a good book.

So if anyone knows a catalog that I can get my wishes from please send it my way. Remember that have to be Chanel quality at thrift store prices though cause I'm cheap.

John McCain & Sarah Palin on Shattering the Glass Ceiling
By Sandra Sobieraj Westfall
Originally posted Friday August 29, 2008 08:30 PM EDT

Even the kids were in the dark.
Meghan McCain, 23, didn’t find out until a few hours before the rest of the nation. Track Palin, 19, an Army private on base in Fairbanks, Alaska, got the news in a text message an hour before his mother, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took the stage in Dayton, Ohio, as John McCain’s pick to be his running mate. “I said, ‘Track! Turn the TV on in an hour,’” Sarah Palin told PEOPLE. “He says, ‘What does this mean? Am I going to have to crawl in a hole?’ And I said, ‘No!’ Because he had no idea; he doesn’t even know where we are.”

Where they were was the Nutter Center college sports arena in Dayton, Ohio. And PEOPLE was there for an exclusive backstage interview with the McCain and Palin families suddenly joined in the campaign for the White House. Sarah Palin, in ruby red peep-toe platform heels that showed off a pink French-style pedicure, first ducked into a holding room to change the diaper of her just-up-from-a-nap 4 1/2-month-old son, Trig.

The two families were all smiles…

Meghan, what did you tell your father about his selection?
MEGHAN MCCAIN: It’s girl power and you know I’m all about that. She’s very smart, has a sweet family. Her son’s in the military and my brothers are in the military. We have a lot in common. This is my dream choice. I almost started crying on stage – and I am not a crier – when they were talking about this being the anniversary of women’s suffrage. I couldn’t be more proud. It’s also a reinvention of the Republican Party. She’s such a cool role model – and she’s got great shoes! (Laughs)

What does Governor Palin need to know about working with your dad?
MEGHAN: He likes to get up early in the morning and go. Seems like she likes to do that too. I guess with a baby…

JOHN MCCAIN: … she has to be. (Laughter)

SARAH PALIN: Morning person. Yup. We don’t sleep much. Too much to do. What I’ve had to do, though, is in the middle of the night, put down the BlackBerries and pick up the breast pump. Do a couple of things different and still get it all done.

As a new mom, how are you going to juggle all this?
SARAH: I am thankful to be married to a man who loves being a dad as much as I love being a mom, so he is my strength. And practically speaking, we have a great network of help with lots of grandparents and aunties and uncles all around us. We have a lot of help.

So will your husband be on leave now indefinitely to be Mr. Mom?
SARAH: I would say so, yes.

Gov. Palin, when you were 13 weeks pregnant, last December, you had an amniocentesis that determined Trig had Down syndrome.
SARAH: I was grateful to have all those months to prepare. I can’t imagine the moms that are surprised at the end. I think they have it a lot harder.

Sen. McCain, of all the candidates you considered, what drew you to her?
JOHN: Obviously, I found her to be very intelligent and very well-versed on the issues. But I think the important thing was that she’s a reformer. She’s taken on special interests since she ran for the PTA and the city council and mayor. The courage, I guess, is what most impressed me.

Mrs. McCain, how much did you weigh in on this process?
CINDY MCCAIN: I was part of it. I was very enthusiastic [about Palin].

What does Gov. Palin need to know about working with your husband?
CINDY: From a work aspect, they’re very compatible. He works very hard, he’s very direct. I think she already knows these things. And she’s a marathoner: I don’t think there will be any trouble keeping up with him!

What do they all need to know about hanging out with your family on the campaign trail?
CINDY: We take each day as it comes. It’s a lot of fun. Enjoy the moment. The most important thing is family and making sure that family life stays as normal as possible under the circumstance. My best advice to them would just be to keep your kids close.

Mr. Palin, you have this tiny baby with special needs. Do you worry that people may wonder if she’ll be giving short shrift to her family?
TODD: She’s heard that her whole life – the challenges of being a female and mother in the work force. I remember the first time she ran for mayor one of her fellow council members told her you can’t run because you’ve got three negatives: Track, Bristol and Willow. Those are the three kids we had at the time. So when you tell her that kind of stuff, she just gets fired up. We’re an Alaska family that adapts.

CINDY: I disagree with anyone who would say she can’t do both. Any woman who’s been in a situation where they are working and have children know that you give 300 percent; no one will be slighted in any of this, least of all her baby. She has a lot of energy, she’s a woman with great drive and great vision.

A woman on the ticket is what a lot of Hillary Clinton voters wanted to see. What’s your message to women who might see a second shot at shattering the glass ceiling?
SARAH: Certainly in this election cycle, women aren’t finished yet. And women can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all.

JOHN: I think that Sarah appeals to a lot of voters – I think because of her independence, because of her reform agenda and her record of balancing both family and service. It is motivation to not just Clinton voters but to lots of voters.

Given her young age and relatively short resume, why is she any more ready to be president than Sen. Barack Obama?
JOHN: I don’t think it’s a short resume. She first ran for office back in 1992. I don’t know what Senator Obama was doing then, but the first time she ran was 1992. That’s 16 years. I think that’s a pretty, pretty event-filled and record-filled resume.

SARAH: And I haven’t had too many years other than that to fill up yet.

JOHN: There you go.

Do you feel ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?
SARAH: Absolutely. Yup, yup. Especially with a good team around us.

How do you feel about your son, Track [an Army private], going off to war in Iraq?
SARAH: Anxious, but very confident. He’s ready.
TODD: She’s at peace. She knows that he’s not scared. He’s been trained for this mission and so we’ve seen that confidence in that young man. We’re, of course, nervous.

What’s on the dinner table most often in the Palin house?
TODD: Our favorite is moose hot dogs, caribou hot dogs. We get caribou, get ‘em ground up and put them into hot dogs. They’re Polish.

Does your wife hunt any more?
TODD: Not lately. But I was supposed to be hunting this weekend, so I had to cancel that.

Where do your children’s names come from?
TODD: Sarah’s parents were coaches and the whole family was involved in track and I was an athlete in high school, so with our first-born, I was, like, ‘Track!’ Bristol is named after Bristol Bay. That’s where I grew up, that’s where we commercial fish. Willow is a community there in Alaska. And then Piper, you know, there’s just not too many Pipers out there and it’s a cool name. And Trig is a Norse name for “strength.”

Sen. McCain, as you leave on a road trip to Pennsylvania, what do you think about having all those kids on your bus?
JOHN: (Laughs)

SARAH: It’s like, ‘Hold onto your hats!’

Mrs. McCain, do you even remember the last time he changed a diaper?
CINDY: No. And I’m not sure he does.

JOHN: Heh-heh. I remember. There’s some experiences you never forget.

Football and celebrations

Happy Anniversary to Ricky's mom and dad. They celebrate 29 years today. The two of you raised an amazing son. I'm so thankful for what wonderful grandparents you are to Regan. Even though we make fun of you for obsessed ways we are so thankful you are so active in Regan's life. I hope you have another 29 years.

Football season has officially begun. We had a great time Saturday night watching the first game of Alabama's season. They won a game that no one expected them to win, Ricky was and is very happy to see the improvements from the past few years.

I saw a cake on a recipe book that looked like a football field. It was really cute and so Regan and I made one to pass the afternoon by. I need to get the correct things for cake decorating but did the best I could with zip lock bags to do the team names in the end zones.
I ran out of red food coloring so the brown football looked a little bit like a dark olive green. I thought it was cute and we had a blast making it. The green grass was coconut that had been dyed green with food coloring. Since Regan doesn't do cows milk I made the icing from powder sugar and soy milk. I couldn't tell an difference in the flavor and the coconut added a good sweetness to it. Regan loved the process and is begging for some cake! Have a great week!

Mccain and the VP pick

Just wanted to say how excited I am that John McCain has announced his VP pick today! I'm not usually into politics but this announcement excites me!!
Sarah Palin of Alaska is a mom to 5 and her youngest was born in April and has Down Syndrome. What an amazing opportunity for Down Syndrome Awareness and a policy maker to have life experience in things that we deal with everyday!
